Sweet Mess

Powder Puff Boy

Anytime that Gavin isn't in the same room as we are and he is quiet somewhere...
...it's always a bad sign.

Last Week

This is how I found Gavin one morning. Typical male.
We should have named him Jason Jr. Jason wanted to show off his muscles. Dad's dogwood tree is absolutely beautiful right now.
Gavin was watching a movie and I noticed he had gotten suspiciously quiet.

Gone Fishin'

Jason took the day off today and took Gavin and me to Croft State Park for some family time. The intent was to teach Gavin a little about fishing, but....it lasted about 10 minutes before Gavin was done with it. He enjoyed exploring the woods and playing with sticks a whole lot more!

We saw this big guy on the path. I was in front and almost stepped on him. My heart literally skipped a beat when I realized it was a snake. The park ranger said that there had been a lot of copperheads found in the area, but we think this was just a black snake...a really really long black snake.

Wrestling Gone Wrong

Jason and Gavin were wrestling last night in the floor, and Gavin head-butted Jason with his teeth when his did his "fruit snack bomb" move (as gavin calls it). Jason had 2 little slits in his forehead where Gavin's teeth landed. Gavin was crying because it hurt his teeth. He calmed down after a few minutes. But when he looked at Jason's head bleeding...oh.my.word. You would have thought the child was dying! He screamed and cried even louder! He didn't like seeing blood on Jason's forehead. So traumatic! But after we put neosporin on it and a Transformers band-aid, everything was ok. [Of course, all I could do was laugh and take pictures.]

For a Good Cause

Tuesday night, we went to Wild Wings in Spartanburg for the Ladies of the 80's Retro Man Pageant. A lady I know had preemie boys several years ago and March of Dimes helped her through it. This was her way of supporting and raising money for the March of Dimes. Tickets to "get in" were $5. There were 8 contestants; 2 of them were a little too familiar and a little too comfortable with strutting their feminine stuff...if you know what I mean. We had a great time and laughed all night long.

Jellybean Math

Once a teacher, always a teacher...I guess.
I did a sorting and graphing activity with Gavin and Karis with jellybeans. Sorting was good for Gavin, but of course his attention didn't last long enough to color all the boxes in on the graph. He did a few.

Christian Cartoon Strip

Dad sent me an email with these cartoons in them. It's nice to read some clean humor every now and then.
