Spring Break just can't get here fast enough!

Saturday Sunshine

Kelli and I took Karis and Gavin to the playground at Greenville Zoo. IT WAS CROWDED! I knew it would be, considering how nice and warm it has been today. Everyone had the same idea. We took us some pb&j sandwiches and had a picnic on the ground, then took off playing. After we left the playground, Paul helped us find another park called Linky Park. It was more of a children's garden where a group or organization has planted flowers and other natural things by the Reedy River under an overpass.

Celebrating Blessings

We may not be Irish, but we still love to celebrate how lucky we are. Tonight we had our version of an Irish meal - corn beef brisket, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, soda bread, green punch, and a yummy mint chocolate pudding dessert.

Tonight we had some St Patrick's Day Trivia. Here are a couple questions for you, courtesy of my sister Kelli. Read the clue and try to name the famous "Patrick".

1. This actor became famous in a TV series which he played the youngest doctor. He was born in 1973 and revealed he was gay in 2006. He currently plays a womanizing role in a comedy TV show.
2. This actor is proud of his Dyslexia, claiming it makes him who he is today. He has appeared in many films - Sweet Home Alabama; Enchanted; and Valentine's Day. He also is quite "dreamy".
3. This patriot of the American Revolution is famous for his controversial statement, "Give me liberty of give me death!"
4. Born in 1946, this man is a TV personality, former weatherman, and is best known for his role in directing players to find their fortune in spinning the wheel.
5. This actor caught many a lady's heart as he taught us all how to "dance dirty".

Another Year Older

Jason put together a surprise birthday party for me...and I didn't even know. Usually I mess up all his surprises for me because I over analyze everything he does and figure them out. Well, he pulled one over on me this time. I really wasn't expecting this one. Jason invited all our family and my Bible study girls to come. We had it at mom's house and Kelli was responsible for keeping me away all day. Jason grilled steaks and chicken for everyone. Plus we had baked potatoes and salad. Since the ground was wet, we set up cornhole on the driveway, and Jason got a ring toss game for the kids. I got lots of nice things, even though people shouldn't have brought a gift. Everyone, or at least I did, have a great time just eating and talking and watching the kids play.

I'm feeling quite old today, but I'm definitely feeling quite blessed.

Just Pictures

Here are just some random pictures I've taken this week of Gavin.

Gavin's Leapfrog, Tad is his name, plays daytime music and bedtime music. It only plays music for about a minute, then stops. When I put Gavin down for his nap on Monday, he pressed the bedtime button on Tad. I heard him press it a few times. But after the music stopped and didn't start back up, I went in to check on him. I guess he fell asleep while he was waiting to push the button again. I love how his hand is still on Tad's button.

Gavin's Friends

I was reading Meredith's blog, and she posted some pictures that she played around with on Picknik. I've heard people mention this site so many times before but I've never looked for myself. So I got curious and tried it out. Each morning when Gavin wakes up, he has to take ALL of his stuffed animals into the living room with him to drink his milk and watch cartoons. We have to take his blanket, Rocky Bear, Little Bear, Monk (monkey), blue bink, the other blue bink, and white bink (binky). We can't leave anyone behind. So I was able to darken the edges and add text. I like that feature. My question is, to all you Picknik experts, will Snapfish be able to develop it like that? I wanted to do more but it kept saying I had to upgrade and pay for a membership. Instead of giving someone my bank account information, I wonder if it would be worth my time to just buy photo editing software to put on my computer. So my next question is this, does anyone know or recommend a good photo software that can do these things?
