Home Sweet Home

It's always nice to go on vacation - but it's always nicer to come HOME.

We've been at the beach this past week. The weather was great and the house we stayed in was fantastic. It was within walking distance to the beach, had a beautiful front porch, and my favorite part was the outside shower. I took all of my showers, except for 2, outside. It was sooo nice. My wonderful friend Meredith and her little girl Olivia Kate were able to go with us. My mom went too, even though I think she got a little lonely. (We had 2 year olds to deal with, and she didn't have anyone to stay on the beach with her all day.) Jason was the only man in the house. And he did a great job waiting on us hand and foot, and dealing with all the estrogen in the house. I didn't cook one single meal. Jason did everything. He was such a good sport.

Popsicle

The childhood jingle from the ice cream truck caught our ear tonight. We HAD to get a popsicle. Gavin chose a Sponge Bob popsicle, and got completely messy. But it was sooo good.

Summer Veggies

I went out to water the vegetables and flowers last night and spotted something peeking out at me...

A cucumber!

I didn't even know there was one growing already

- it must have been hidden all this time under the leaves!

We also have some banana peppers that

are just about ready to be picked.

Our squash and zucchini have lots of blooms

but haven't produced anything yet.

Potty Time

Last week and this week, we have been working on our potty skills. Gavin has been quite successful in using the potty. I've taught him how to stand up to go "like big boys do it". He has been really good at telling me when he has to go, but we're still not quite to the big boy underwear yet.

I am so proud of my little buddy!

I told Gavin he couldn't pee in the pool or it would mess it up, and we wouldn't be able to swim in it anymore. So, here is a potty training photo from the pool. He got out, took his swim trunks off, and peed in the grass. It's a start!
